Welcome to the fall season anime of 2008 everybody! Lots of anime, and many have already been put online, here’s a quick review of the few that came out with fansubs during the past few days.

Side note: Was going to do a preview of the whole season…but by the time I sort through everything, it the new season was already here, no need to preview what’s already here.

Rosario + Vampire Capu 2

Dear lord…where should I even begin with this one. Let’s see, there are a lot of panty shots; 55 of them in 24 minutes episode, to be exact. Here were my rules about counting the panty shots in this anime, for every flash, I counted 1. Those from the same action only get counted as 1, and more than 1 panty shot in a single frame from more than one female count as 1.

…Anyways, putting the interesting amount of panty shots aside. What you found from last season of R+V can still be found in this season. Amazing voice over work by the same cast of last season, the comedy, the various monsters, and of course, the panty shots.

If it wasn’t for Mizuki Nana, I probably won’t even be watching this show. That said, the first episode will probably be the only episode I don’t watch using the ‘skip watching’ method. (Aka, keep using the skip ahead 5 second hot key in Media Player Classic)

More after the jump!

Toradora!

From sexy, to crazy. This anime is a must watch from this season. The comedy level of this anime is simply off the hook, definitely promising from the first episode.

Meet Ryuuji, a high schooler with the most terrifying angry look. Turns out however, he’s just an ordinary high schooler who wanted to live an ordinary life…but his angry looks always gets in the way. Then there’s Taiga, a loli with a bossy attitude. When the two meet, let’s just say it wasn’t the best meeting ever. Yet, due to some twisted factors, the two come to a deal to help each other with their crushes. My my, this can only end well.

As far as seiyuu goes for this series, worry not. For you have expert loli tsundere seiyuu Kugimiya Rie voicing Taiga. Other seiyuu include: Horie Yui voicing Ryuuji’s crush, and Tanaka Rie voicing for their home room teacher.

Hyakko

Another anime with that starts off rather odd, while this should be a slice-of-life girl school kind of anime, it is a little more crazy than usual. The first episode was pretty much an introduction to the heroines: Torako the crazy hyperactive girl; Suzume, the unpredictable quiet one; Tatsuki, the ojou-sama; and Ayumi, the airhead.

The most notable seiyuu for this show is Hirano Aya, guess who she will be voicing? Nope, not Torako. Instead, she will be voicing Ayumi the airhead. The only other notable seiyuu I can think of is Orikasa Fumiko, who voiced Rukia in Bleach.

Clannad ~Afterstory~

There really isn’t much to say for this show. Director is Ishihara Tatsuya, most notable for directing The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, but he also did Air and Kanon. The usual comedy within drama is still there in the second season, not much has change about that…

The only major change I can think of is perhaps the new OP and ED. No more eufonius’ amazing singing or the cutesy dango dance (T_T), they are replaced by song sung by no other then the famous Lia.

Conclusion: Ready to laugh and cry at the same time.

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka

If I am not mistaken, this is the only eroge adaptation this season (Aside from Clannad, but that wasn’ eroge). That said, this looks like it’ll be your typical harem anime with a hyperactive friend, a loving and considerate sister and a newly met girl.

Here’s a quick summary, the protagonist, Nagase Junichi saves a girl on the street who was being teased by two delinquents. The delinquents quickly recognize Junichi as the rumoured violent high schooler nicknamed “Geno Killer” and was scared off. Turns out that rumour was just all fiction created by his friends (some friends they are). Anyhow, more and more happenings throughout the episode as they become classmates. Then more random happenings and at the very end of the first episode, the girl he saved shows up at his door saying she’ll live there. (Original indeed…)

Quick seiyuu review: Kugimiya Rie voices Katagiri Yuuhi (The girl Junichi saved), Hirano Aya voices Minato aka Junichi’s sister, Hatano Wataru (Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu’s Ayase Yuto) will be voicing Junichi.

Last note: While this was originally an eroge, I believe this anime adaptation was based off of the PS2 adaptation of the eroge judging from the looks of the seiyuu list.

That’s all for now, I’ll post more as more of the new season shows up.

I’ll come out and say it bravely…I’m suffering from Post Geass Syndrome (Aka PGS).

For the past two nights, I’ve been having different dreams about Code Geass’ ending and it is really troubling my sleep. My dreams may contain spoilers of the actual show, so I’ll put it after the jump. Before that though, just a few random screen caps.

The horrible outfit and sword gave me nightmares.

Who’s idea was this sword anyways?

On Sunday night, the night right after I watched Geass’ ending, I woke up about every hour in my 8 hour sleep from various flash backs of Code Geass. Many of them involved Knightmares fighting it out and blowing up. Other times, it was Lelouch getting stab on repeat.

I see this, just flying past each other over and over again.

I was also dreaming of a cross between Gundam 00 and Geass, mainly because I’ve finally got the motivation to watch the show that is so political in terms of plot that I feel like I’m taking history lesson. (Side note: I actually do like 00 quite a bit. Couldn’t like it at first since I was taking my political classes back then, felt like homework while watching anime.)

Those are GN particles, aren’t they?

I ended up not getting very much sleep from Sunday night to Monday morning, but I thought it’d be better last night…but I was wrong.

Loli-con farmer with a freaky eye.

I had this dream where there was a re-write of Geass’ ending. Before I tell you about it though, let me announce that I am NOT a fanfic writer.

The loli-con farmer’s resident loli.

So here’s what happened in the dream: The scene takes place at a harbor and Lelouch needed something from the Black Knights. Kallen was responsible for handing whatever that suitcase of thing was to Lelouch. Lelouch arrives on that black Knightmare and walks toward Kallen in his horrible emperor outfit. As Kallen hands over the suitcase of whatever it might be to Lelouch, Lelouch tells her how she was just being used by him. As Lelouch turns away to walk back to his transport, he was shot in the chest from the back. Kallen was the one holding the smoking gun with tears in her eyes. The camera then turns to Lelouch’s dying face with a smile as the screen slowly fades to black.

End of dream.

My thoughts on the dream when I woke up was that Lelouch’s words toward Kallen was to make sure that she’d shoot him and kill him. I don’t really know how it worked, but I suppose Kallen and Lelouch had some sort of romance going on pre this scene. To be honest, I woke up with tears. Sigh…T_T

On a lighter note, I was going to order Pizza Hut this afternoon as a proper send off to Code Geass. Sadly, there wasn’t a driver to deliver the pizza and my parents decide that they still won’t let me drive to a pizza place that’s just outside of walking distance although I’ve had my driver’s license for the past two months after acing the exam. Maybe I’ll see if I can convince my dad to have pizza for dinner tonight, they don’t seem to enjoy having pizza much.

I should return to my physics homework now, that’s where I should’ve been anyways. Maybe I’ll post more songs of me singing later. Ciao!

Think about the anime you’ve watched, how many times have you seen tamagoyaki (friend egg rolls)? Too many times, probably.

It got me thinking then, how hard is it to make it? I’ll be honest, I’m not a good cook nor do I cook all too often. Even so, I researched and tried to make this. Happily though, it turned out to be very easy to make and even though I can’t cook it well, I’m going to tell you how to make it!

Recipe and pictures after the jump!

Ingredients: (This will give you two decent size rolls)

- 4 eggs

- 2 tablespoon of sugar (could be adjusted to your own liking)

- 3 table spoon of Daishi*

- 1 tea spoon of soy sauce

- 1 tea spoon of Mirin**

- A pinch of salt

- Any cooking oil will work, but stay away from using butter.

* Daishi is a type of Japanese soup stock. You probably can find them at any Asian super markets. If you don’t have any, don’t worry too much about it. You can still make Tamagoyaki without it. In fact, it’ll be easier to make because your eggs aren’t as runny and delicate when you are rolling them up (although it will be less tasty).

**Mirin is Japanese sweet rice wine. Again, not really needed. In fact, I haven’t tried using it. Some recipe I see doesn’t even include this.

Materials:

- A brush or paper towel to spread oil in the pan

- Two pairs of chopsticks/Two forks (or only one if you are very skillful at rolling the eggs)

- A non-stick pan. It doesn’t need to be big. I personally use a 7″ non-stick pot for this because I lack a square or small frying pan.

Procedure:

1. Crack the four eggs into a bowl, dump the rest of the ingredients in, and beat the mixture until everything is assimilated nicely.

You should end up with a mixture similar looking to this. (Maybe try beating it till a bit more even…)

2. Put your pan on the stove, put the heat on low – medium (Just enough to slowly make the egg solid), and brush some oil evenly on to the pan. Then spread the mixture thinly at the bottom of the pan.

3. Wait patiently until the base of the egg is solid, then slowly and carefully ‘roll’ the egg up evenly. (This is where if you are skillful, you can use one chopstick to do it. I have to use two forks for this part because the chopstick tips are too fat to slide them under the egg without breaking it.)

4. Once the egg is rolled up to one side of the pan, re-oil the part of the pan that’s free. Then spread more mixture thinly on the free side on the pan and make sure that the mixture is also touching the egg roll that you just rolled up. As the mixture solidifies again, roll the egg roll inside the solidifying mixture to make the roll thicker.

Brush oil onto the free part of the pan

Put the mixture where you oiled it and roll the egg back towards you.

5. Repeat step 4 until all your mixture is used up. Done!

The finished product!

It’s all swirly inside! =P

Well now, wasn’t that easy and fun to make? You might notice that mine doesn’t quite look anime-ish, and that’s because life isn’t an anime. That and, I used a pot instead of a square pan, I was also a little hastey and had the stove on too hot. You can add other ingredients into the mixture if you like, such as lettuce or crabsticks to make it colorful and all. That’s it for today, over and out!

There is this person I know who watches anime, reads manga, collects figures, wants to play visual novel but can’t because she doesn’t know enough Japanese…and yet, she doesn’t pay attention to seiyuu (voice actors). What I can’t understand is, why? They give life to the very anime you watch and love! Imagine what the anime would be like if all the characters just move their mouths and words aren’t spoken! Might as well read manga then, why watch anime!?

Right right, enough of me rambling on. Let’s get started, shall we?

Let’s start with a little game then, all the pictures below will be common in something. No, the answer is not that they are all anime girls.

(From left to right: Lenalee [D-gray man], Tamaki [To Heart 2], Boota [Gurren Lagann], Rei[Marimite], Wilhelmina [Shakugan no Shana], Akiha [Tsukihime], Himawari [xxxHolic])

Again, no. The answer isn’t that they are all anime girls…or anime character. *Looks at Boota…*

If you don’t know the answer, congratulations; you still have a life.

People with a sense of logic could deduce that I’m talking about a seiyuu. (For those not very Japanese literate, Seiyuu = Voice actor.) People who are my kind would know that the answer is indeed. Itō Shizuka.

Why is she one of my favourite female of all time? Well, find out after the jump.

I should explain, for those who don’t really watch anime. In Japan, the Seiyuu industry is pretty big. How big? Big enough to the point where there are lots of Seiyuu companies, manager companies under them and then there are lots of other related media such as radio shows and fanclubs…you catch my drift.

I can’t really remember since when this began, but sometime through the years of my anime watching, I’ve became aware of seiyuu(s). After I realize I was aware of their existence and them as a whole, I started chasing after them like a little fangirl does to the visual kei bands…okay, maybe not to that extent. Point being is, I started being infatuated with various seiyuu and sometimes I will even go as far as watching an anime just because they are in there. (Ala Dragonaut….)

Out of many the seiyuu(s) I look at, Shizu-sama stands out from the rest. (People of my caliber calls seiyuu by their nickname sometimes, in this case, Shizu-sama is Itō Shizuka’s nickname.) The reason she stands out is probably because of her voice. There’s something in her voice that makes it tick, and I suppose I can label it as ‘cute’ for the moment. Think about for a second, D-gray man’s Lenalee and xxxHolic’s Himawari. Think about their voices…keep thinking…got it? I think cute labels that pretty well.

Though, just having a cute voice won’t make me love her this much. (Yes, I’m using the word love, bite me.) Her voice also allows her to act out different styles other than cute. Tama-nee from TH2, Wilhelmina from Shana and Akiha from Tsukihime. Tama-nee, although cute and pretty, has a sexy component in her voice. Wilhelmina is rather silent and Akira is sometimes a bitch.

Alright, so cute and great voice acting abilities, what else?

How about voice acting for eroge? For those Japan illiterate, the more common term for that is h-games. Why do I find this appealing? Why, I play h-games of course. Then again, let’s try keeping those sorts of talks out of my posts. Let’s just say I appreciate her voice in adult related material as well.

She can also sing well. What I mean by ‘well’ is that she isn’t amazing like Mizuki Nana or Chihara Minori. If seiyuu who can sing to that extent are class A, then Shizu-sama is in class B. Her voice could be very nice in songs, but only in songs that fit her. The music also have to be great in order to make the song good, in the sense that her singing alone won’t cover for the bad music. One thing that makes her stand out in her songs is that, she acts out the character as she sings. Quite a few seiyuu does that, but to do that and still sound well is quite hard. [Nis recommends: Power of Flower from Hayate no Gotoku and RainyPain from an h-game.]

If that isn’t enough, how about her usual hobbies? She likes to drink, flirt and grope other seiyuu. That’s right; she likes to grope other seiyuu. In fact, she is called the “Boobs Sommelier” by Ueda Kana, another seiyuu. Shizu-sama gained that title through many groping and eventually gaining extensive knowledge of many seiyuu’s breast size, shape and feel.

Gottouza-sama (Goto Yuko) getting attacked by Shizu-sama. Hot.

Summing up the reasons why I like her, she is:

A voice actress that can voice a variety of characters

Has a cute and sexy voice

Voices h-games. (Nis plays a lot of.)

She gropes other seiyuu, loves to drink, and sounds like a fun girl in general.

Can sing relatively well.

As an end note, I did borrow a lot of material from a fellow blogger: Byakuya. I even took a picture off of her post, so give her some credit and visit her blog.

I really didn’t post that much back on my old group blog…I mean, the two bad anime posts and this one were all the anime review posts I’ve ever done.

Ah well, whatever. Here you go, a post that’s about anime you can watch without worrying that you are wasting your life.

Anime I enjoyed watching #1: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

I really don’t think I have to describe this one, but since I did say I would put a small review of all anime I found worth watching, I guess I have to do this one too.

To start off, I can ASSURE you that you will be enjoying this anime A LOT. Though…When I was thinking how I should nail down what makes this anime so special…I really couldn’t. So I tried to put down a list of what this anime did right, and guess what? Everything that this anime did is done right, let me be more specific…

Music: This is probably first and the ONLY anime I will think that all the songs (including character CDs) are worth buying. Every last darn one of these CDs are worth buying, and I do mean every last one of them.

Animation: This anime is done by Kyoto Anime, who are also responsible for Full Metal Panic (Second Raid and Fumoffu), Kanon 2006, and a heck load of other anime jewels. So no need to worry about the animation quality.

Plot: The gist of the plot is this. Our male protagonist, Kyon, is your VERY VERY average high school guy. Up until the point he meets Suzumiya Haruhi. Suzumiya Haruhi is a very eccentric girl, she is weird in every single way and if you look up the word “weird” in the dictionary, you are pretty sure to find her picture. With the appearance of Suzumiya Haruhi in Kyon’s life, Kyon quickly finds his normal life gets thrown out of the ordinary. He finds himself situated beside Aliens, Espers, and Time travellers. Even yet more weird, all of them gathered because of Haruhi. The reason: Suzumiya Haruhi is a god, only…she doesn’t know that she is.

Characters:Every one of the characters has been created with the utmost care to present the most entertaining personality possible. From sarcastic optimism to cynical apathy. From silent book worm to clumsy maid. Everything you name it, they have it.

Voice Acting: Depending on how well you know me, you probably know that I’m not that into dubs. So I’ll talk about the original Japanese voices, and I can only give you one word: SUPERB. Every last seiyuu (Japanese voice actors) fit their characters perfectly, it’s just flawless.

Result: One very damn amazing anime that every anime watcher should watch. Plus, it’s pretty short. 13 episodes, so even if you think it’s a meh-ish anime (which you WON’T), it’s not that much of a waste of time.

More of anime that I really enjoyed after the jump.

Anime I enjoyed watching #2: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Ro’ Ro’ Fight the powa!
WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE ARE!?
PIERCE THE HEAVENS YOUR DRILL!

*Ahem* Sorry about that, I had to get it out of my system and now that it’s out of my system…let’s get on with this.

The very moment I thought of doing a post about anime I enjoyed watching, I knew I would have to include this anime. However, it brings up this really huge problem: I just…can’t really word all the awesomeness in this anime. The amazingness of this anime is not something that could be expressed with words. You really have to watch and experience the anime to understand what it is all about.

There is really nothing not to love about this anime. Busty chick with guns, huge mecha, hot bloodedness, romance, everything you want in a shounen anime, here it is in one supersized package.

If you want my personal opinion on this anime, I’ll tell you one thing. Hot-blooded, real, manly tears. That’s my feelings for this anime.

Anime I enjoyed watching #3: Honey and Clover (both seasons, haven’t watched live action yet)

At first glance, the art of this anime really didn’t catch me. In fact, I didn’t watch it until season two came out. When season two of this anime came out, I decided I’ll give it a shot. So I watched the first season and guess what? I totally fell in LOVE with this anime.

I don’t want to give out any spoilers for this anime because I simply can’t phrase up the amazingness of it, but the basic plot revolves around five main characters and their college lives. The uncertainty for the future, inability to find a job, and of course, how to manage their romance.

Now, if you have read up till this point and think that the plot is kind of dull, you are very wrong. Because the essence of this story doesn’t really lie within the plot, it lies within the small details it nails down as the episodes pass. All the uncertainties of the future and how one should manage their romance and friendships, are all shown in a manner where you’ll either cry until you dehydrate or laugh till you drop.

Notice the small bit of time jump as this next one was done about a few months after this original post

Anime I enjoy watching #4: Natsume Yuujinchou

“Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. Containing the names of these spirits, a binding contract was formed between the spirits and the owner of the book. Now, Natsume is determined to free the spirits and dissolve the contracts. With the help of a spirit cat, his days are filled trying to return the names to these spirits.” -ANN

Alright then, a hero that can see spirits and keeps it a secret. Inherited some item from his ancestor that has some great power and every spirit in town wants it. Where have I heard of a plot line like this? Hmm…hard call. Perhaps just about every other anime. However, that’s only on the surface. The whole plot line wasn’t enough to make me watch it when it first came out, and it wasn’t until TubeOxen bothered me enough telling me to watch it that I did.

However, when I actually got around to watch it. Oh boy. First of all, I have to clarify. The story is not as cliche as it sounds, even though the structure of it is. Natsume doesn’t stand out at all, he doesn’t give of the ‘protagonist’ aura at all. He is completely normal, and you get the feeling that he could be someone your neighbour is. The main focus of this anime is actually tracing back to his grandmother, Reiko. The story actually focuses on Natsume discovering Reiko’s past little by little through meeting the spirits his grandmother once met.

As said before, Reiko; Natsume’s grandmother, plays a great part in this anime. She doesn’t have much presence either, seeing as how the only time the audience sees her is from a flashback. However, this is exactly what makes this anime interesting. You see the view of the spirits from Natsume, and you also see what Reiko sees of the spirits. It’s the same anime, with two flavor.

The art style of this anime gives off a traditional Japan view for some odd reason. Although still very anime, you also feel that it is very traditional Japanese. The animation budget doesn’t feel skimped either, although a few frames might be reused, they are generally high quality.

The music is where this anime really stands out. Every BGM gives off a really easy feeling, it puts you into a relaxed state. As with the art style, each piece of music gives off a heavy Japan taste to it. You forget your normal day troubles when you watch this anime thanks to the music, and you would want each episode to last longer. You would feel that each episode is very long because of the slow pace this anime goes at.

What makes this anime so good, however, isn’t something I can explain through words. There is a certain X factor that makes everyone I know fall in love with it. So even if my review doesn’t give you the motivation to go see this anime right away, give it a try anyways.

Alright! That’s it for now. I was going to review Eve no Jikan as well, but I decided that I should put that off because I’ve only watched one episode so far. It’d be more fair to review after watching another one or two episodes. (Even though the whole series will ONLY have 6 episodes…) That’s it for now, have a great time watching Natsume Yuujinchou (or named as Natsume Yūjin-Chō).

Okay! Two more posts I have to edit from the old blog and I’ll be finished with old material so I can move on with new posts!

Right, let’s get to the second installment of anime you totally shouldn’t waste your time on.

Anime I regret watching #4: Shuffle! Memories.

What the heck did they do to Primula’s face!?

The first problem about this anime is, I can’t figure out why they made it. I mean, aside from the reason to rip more money off of anime fans, there is simply no reason to have this 12 episodes “sequel” where 11 are made out of recaps. No, I’m not kidding. If you are a Shuffle! fan and thought, “Oh yay! Sequel to Shuffle!” Hold your horses, because it is definitely not a sequel. There is -some- (Note: Very little.) original content within the recaps, and the only episode out of the 12 that contains 100% original content is the last episode, which just an OVA with the usual crew on a boat and have nothing to do with the plot.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I loved the original Shuffle! series. However, I don’t love it enough to watch a water-downed version of it. Frankly, if I want to watch Shuffle! again, I’ll just watch Shuffle! again! Why would I go ahead and watch 11 episode of a water downed version of a series that I enjoyed all of the 24 episodes in the original series!? Why!?

The plot had to be trimmed and condensed so that they can fit 24 episodes into 11, which means only the dramatic scenes get left in and as a result, you can’t relate to the character as well as the original series. Aside from that, this series has more or less the same quality of the original. The animation quality was a tad bit higher, but everything else remained the same. After all, this is just a recap. The only major change in this recap version of Shuffle! is the music, and again, why!? The original music was great, but they just had to go around fiddling with the OP and ED, putting in second rate songs that are sung by the seiyuu, it’s just horrible!

So overall, if you haven’t seen the original Shuffle! series, go watch that instead of this. If you watched Shuffle! and want more of it, only get the last episode of Shuffle! Memories.

More bad anime after the jump.

Anime I regret watching #5: Soul Link.

Another anime by Navel (Shuffle! Memories was also by Navel), and both of them are going to be bashed. Sorry Navel, I love your games, but your anime just suck (with the exception of the original Shuffle!).

To be truthful, I really don’t know where to begin with this anime. It’s so bad that I don’t even want to review it.

First thing’s first, let me just say, don’t watch this. Just don’t. You’ll waste four and a half hours of your life(23 minutes x 12 episodes = 276 minutes /60 minutes per hour = 4.6 hours) watching something that, seem to have a lot of things happening, but actually doesn’t. Let me explain to you why.

The first two or three episodes of this anime consists of a group of students going to a space station which is orbiting Earth. There’s nothing special in this anime, especially the main character who occasionally trips and lands in a random girl’s chest just like every other anime in this universe. We are also introduced to the crew of characters that will be part of this very boring anime. The cast consists of the following: A loli with a brother-complex, a girl with huge breasts that can fight, the main character’s brother who he looks up to, a female scientist who’s almost too perfect, and to wrap it all up, a boring main character and a few ordinary girls.

Then after this very normal introduction, with nearly no lead up at all, some terrorists attack the space station. There’s a normal middle aged, battle hardened soldier with a soft heart, a trigger happy hot girl in skimpy clothing, and you already know the rest. The terrorists force our group of heroes to retreat to a secluded sector of the space station… Where they choose to have a feast. And no, I’m not kidding, throughout this anime there are several random scenes that have absolutely nothing to do with the plot. Guys, the space station is being attacked by terrorists! I think your stomach can wait a little while, and if it can’t then you don’t have to make a full course dinner for Pete’s sake!

A few more episodes pass, and once again, with absolutely no lead up, the scientist (who has a horrendously annoying laugh) betrays our heroes. Amoeba-like blobs, who can change themselves into human-looking creatures, begin to attack our protagonists, while they choose to have more food.

There are some more ecchi scenes, more feasts, more gun fights, the main character’s brother sexes up one of the girls, and another girl who looks as if she’s right out of middle school (wearing a school uniform and all) is introduced to the scene.

All of a sudden, the protagonist group and the terrorist group decides that they need to fight together against the blob zombies. Now there’s one big protagonist group but the funny thing is, no one seems to remember the amount of people the terrorist group killed.

Fast forward another few episodes, the brother who had sex with a girl gets captured by the enemy, the space station is falling down to Earth. It turns out that the scientist was one of the blob zombies creatures all along, and normal bullets have no effect on her. Then, we find out that the middle-school girl is actually the biological daughter of the older brother and the girl he had sex with. They just had sex a couple of episodes ago! There was no time-shift or anything, HOW THE HECK DID YOU GROW UP SO FAST?! On top of that she also has a special ability which can basically kill any of the blob zombies (don’t ask me why she has this ability, at this point, I’ve lost all the will to pay attention to this anime.).

Excuse me, did you just come out of someone’s vagina?

If there’s one thing this anime has done right, it would have to be the OP and ED themes which were quite well done. Other than that, there is nothing, so don’t bother with this anime. Just go find the two songs by Miyuki Hashimoto named “Screaming” and “Dust trail”. (If my memories serve me correctly, they should be on the same single.)

Anime I regret watching #6: Devil May Cry.

I’ll admit I love the Devil May Cry games, but I just can’t bring myself to love this anime. As an anime it’s mediocre at best. I know this post is called “anime you’ll regret watching”, so I really should only put the worst anime in here and not mediocre anime. However, the problem is this: This anime pales in comparison to the game, and I can’t work out who would bother watching an anime named after a video game series if they didn’t like the game. Mind you, especially when it is one of the most epic games ever.

From this point on, however, I’ll compare this anime with the standards of an anime, not the standards of a video game series that I love.

The music of this anime is very well done; it has some pretty nice pieces that fit well into the mood. I really liked the ending theme “I’ll Be Your Home” by Rin Oikawa. It’s a nice smooth flowing English song which doesn’t sound like Engrish. Her singing voice is also very nice but I can’t seem to find any other songs by her (save one). The opening is an instrument only track named “D.M.C.” which is not a very original name, but it is a nice piece of rock music.

But after this, it goes down hill.

The animation quality in this anime is poor. As an action anime, it barely has any action scenes. While each episode does have a fight with demons and all, it doesn’t last long. Trust me though, it’s a good thing it doesn’t last long because if it did your eyes would bleed from the terribly mediocre animation.

The characters stick well to their counter-parts in game. However, this doesn’t play well in an anime as the main characters are as cliche as usual: Dante the sassy demon hunter, Lady and Trish the bad-ass female demon hunters and the loli that follows Dante around acting very bitchy. Nothing special at all.

Plot: Well, I can’t really say there is one. Basically all you see is Dante running around killing demons. There is a surprising ending which I won’t spoil for you if you should decide to watch it and of course you would. I mean, if you like Devil May Cry as a game, you’ll watch it regardless of what I say.

Well, that’s all folks. This is definitely one of the longest posts I’ve done so far, and I hope I don’t have to do this much bashing next time around. Good bye!

Right…which post to move over. To be honest, there aren’t that many post to move over…decisions, decisions…

Ah well, can’t be helped. I’ll start with what I do best, rant. But not just rant, I will also give you my piece of opinion as to what anime you wouldn’t want to waste your time on. Because, we all know that there are too many anime and too little time.

That said, let’s start with the top few anime that I regret watching. Of course, do keep in mind this is my opinion. (Though I did ask a few of the other writers to help me come up with this list)

Anime I regret watching #1: Stratos 4

Now…Let me sum this show up to you in an equation.

Girls + Rocket ships + Rocks = Waste of your time.

Yes, I’m not even exaggerating here. That’s basically the whole 13 episodes of it. It’s about a team of girls shooting down comets that are falling down from space so the Earth doesn’t blow up. No, I’m really not kidding. In essence, it’s about rocks. That’s about it. Nothing much. Yet somehow they were able to make a 2 episode OVA sequel out of this, amazing huh?

Maybe you are thinking, they had to have done SOMETHING correct if they were able to make 15 episodes of girls shooting rocks. Well, in that case…the only thing that made this anime fly (no pun intended) is: Cute teenage girls in tight pilot suits. Nothing else.

Read more of anime I regrettably wasted my time watching after the jump.

Anime I regret watching #2: Venus Versus Virus.

The plot itself isn’t very attractive. It’s your very average “demons eating people but you can’t see them” and “girl without power suddenly starts to see them, gets attacked by the demons because she can see them, and gets saved by another girl who seem to know all about the demons” anime. Then there’s the ending, it didn’t wrap up anything or explain anything for that matter. The ending episode also had a HECK load of flash backs and it makes it feel like you were cheated into watching this episode.

The action itself in this anime isn’t well done either. Or rather, if anything, the artwork is bad. There are shots throughout the anime where the characters weren’t to size proportion from where they are standing or just simply twisted and awkward looking. Hail to animation budgets.

Then what’s keeping this anime afloat you ask? My, can’t you tell from the picture? The hope for some HLA (Hot Lesbian Action) of course! And guess what? YOU DON’T GET ANY! It’s a trap! Don’t get lured into thinking that although the anime itself sucks, you might be able to see some hot anime girl on girl action. Because you won’t get it! Don’t get lured in by this trap!

Anime I regret watching #3: Yumeria

In a nutshell, here’s what the plot is based around. Mikuri Tomokazu is your average guy, and on the night of his 16 year old birthday, he dreams of this girl (in ridiculous costume: refer to picture above.) fighting this monster. The girl is over powered by the monster, and when our protagonist rushes up to hold the girl in his arms. Due to some unknown reason, our protagonist can power up the girl by touching them. When he wakes up, turns out the girl who was fighting in his dream is, (Yes, you guessed it correctly) sleeping beside him. It would appear that his dream world is connected with the real word, and those monsters appearing in his dreams are manifestations of the evils in the real world. Then the story goes on, more girl appears and Mikuri goes touch them and power them up, beat them. The lot.

After reading my summary of the story, if it still hasn’t occured to you why you’ll waste your life watching this anime. I’ll sum it up for you. The ecchi-ness in this anime doesn’t happen because of the plot. The plot happens for the ecchi-ness. This anime was made for those who like to see another guy having a wet-dream, basically. The quality of sound, animation and artwork are all bad. The only thing this anime exists is because there are people out there who can’t find decent porn or hentai and have to result in watching an anime guy having a wet dream.

I won’t do too much on this, it’s just too epic to sum up. I definitely recommend this anime though, so everyone…WATCH IT!

Before I begin, a warning of spoilers after the jump. Do take note of that.

C.C.! Marry me!

Let me first begin by…I have never cried this much for an anime ending of this type, much less that I did not think I would be crying for an anime like this…especially when I totally saw it coming. (When I say this type…I mean…well, not romance?)

Just a few questions that was left unanswered, to be honest. If only they were answered, my life would feel complete.

In the end, what’s C.C.’s name? What happened to her wanting to die?

Who was the hidden man ‘driving’ that cart of hay? Was it Lelouch? If it wasn’t why is that person’s face covered?

There were some speculations that Lelouch became a contractor like C.C., and thus Code Geass R2 as in R.R. (Since the name Lelouch would be shortened as Lulu, which would be romanized as RuRu.)

…I’m sorry if this post seems a little thin, I can’t seem to recover from the epicness of the ending. I might post more on CG later if I can ever get over the ending. Epic…just too epic.
