So…where to begin…?

Okay! No, I’m not a newtype. That’s a good place to start.

Another good place to start would be my internet handle. I usually go by Nis, but since I have to use a name with 4 letters or more, I’m known as Nis161 here. The name Nis came to be because I saw “Nismo” on a car one day when I was a kid, and that was the first thing I thought of when I first came into contact with internet and needed a net handle. The 161 part, I have no idea where that came from anymore, but I’ve been using it for years when I need to add numbers or length to my net handle.

More about myself…

Not going to disclose my name here, I’m 17years old, living in the freezing land of Canada. I don’t fully understand Japanese as I’m not Japanese but Chinese. Though because of the similarities between language and the years I’ve spent in Otaku-dom, I’ve come to a basic understand of the language and now able to play eroge with enough understanding.

My hobbies are singing, gaming, and of course, Japan-stuffs. That said, I’ll occasionally post songs that I’ve decided to sing on here as well. (Don’t really know yet, maybe I’ll be too shy?)

Then you might wonder, why is the blog name “dimsum101″? The name of this blog came from a nickname given by a friend of mine, Dim Sum. If it wasn’t that someone registered the name, that would’ve been it, but too bad. The 101 came from “101″ as introductory unit. I was planning on using ‘”404″, so like DimSum404, but the I thought…404 = page not found error. Probably not the best when you actually want people to see the blog.

Speaking of the blog… To be honest, I have no idea why I begin this blog or where to begin at all. I used to do this blog call Jerkpop, which is basically a bunch of random guys making random posts and then it’ll be left for dead before one of us decides to kick start things again and then it’ll be left for dead again…You get the drift.

That’s not the only reason I separated myself from that blog though; the other reason I went away from that blog was because every reader became a writer. It sort of turned into more of a writing for another writer to read, it simply made no sense to me.

Now that that’s sorted, here’s what this blog is going to be about. If you look up on the title bar, you might realize already what you are getting yourself into…Oh yes, Otaku-dom. (As if you don’t know already by the very second line I’ve typed…)

If you are not familiar with the term, let me just say that this blog will be about everything I love about the Japan culture: Anime, Manga, J-pop, and of course, Eroge.

Yes! On this blog, you’ll find me talking about my daily fix of one or more of the above. That said though, I probably won’t be posting everyday since I get lazy. Occasionally, you might also find me ranting about things completely off topic.
